Members of the Auckland Computers in Homes Steering Group at InZone Girls’ hostel Powhiri, opening Te Kainga Huarahi on 22 January 2015.

The InZone Boys’ hostel Te Kainga Wananga has been open for 4 years to enable Maori and Pasifika boys to attend Auckland Grammar School, with one now shortlisted for AGS Head Boy 2015. Good Luck! Now the opportunity is available for 17 Maori and Pasifika girls from low decile communities to live in-zone at Te Kainga Huarahi to attend Epsom Girls’ Grammar School.

Computers in Homes has been involved by securing a 25-workstation homework pod at Te Kainga Wananga, and by funding the tablet devices for the girls’ study. Our Auckland technician also assists with internet connections and ICT support. InZone CEO Terrance Wallace is now part of the Auckland Steering Group and managed to secure InZone places for two students from CIH families for 2015.
